SCHOOL UNIFORM COMMITTEE
Many of you have heard that our uniform vendor, Parker School Uniforms, is no longer in business. With this information our school is moving forward in forming a committee comprised of parents, faculty, staff and School Board members to formulate a plan for future years. Ideally we would like to have a broad mix of parents, encompassing younger and older children, with representation of both genders. At this time we will continue as we have been this year in helping each other with used uniform items and making due where necessary. If you have any interest in being part of this committee please contact Mrs. Gee at [email protected] for additional details/information.
Please consider donating any uniform pieces you are not currently using back to the school. Our HSA uniform closet does a brisk business and all donations are appreciated.
SPRING SEMINARIAN SERIES ~ BISHOP ROBERT BARRON’S SERIES
“7 Deadly Sins, 7 Lively Virtues”
Dear St. Louis Catholic School,
It has been a great joy to be able to serve you these past months as a seminarian. I’m so happy to have gotten to know so many of you all to be able to share life with you and your sons and daughters. You all truly have been a gift to me.
As you know, this year your sons and daughters have been invited to reflect on and grow in virtue as part of their formation at St. Louis Catholic School. In this they have been invited to become more like Jesus, the man of virtue. They have been formed after the Heart of Jesus and in doing so have become more alive and continue to become the people that God is calling them to be.
Today, I’m writing to offer you all an opportunity to do the same. Growing in virtue isn’t something that stops when we reach adulthood. It’s our lifelong task as Christians who want to imitate the Master. To that end, with Fr. James’ encouragement, this spring we will gather each Mondayat 7 pm, beginning January 22nd until Easter in the Youth Room to be formed more after the Heart of Jesus by reflecting with Bishop Robert Barron’s series, “7 Deadly Sins, 7 Lively Virtues.” Each week’s meeting will incorporate a talk from Bishop Barron, silent reflection, small group discussion, and prayer. I want to become formed more after the Heart of Jesus and I hope you will join me this Lent to be formed through this series, by prayer, and as a parish and school community.
Here are the details in brief:
What: Bishop Robert Barron’s series, “7 Deadly Sins, 7 Lively Virtues.” presented by Seminarian Will
When: 7 PM (Mondays January 22-March 26th; No meetings on Feb 12 or March 19.)
Where: the Youth Room (Wozniak Hall)
Why: to be formed after the Heart of Jesus in virtue
Register/questions? email: [email protected]
In Christ, Will Rooney
PS – I invite you to share this opportunity with 2-3 people in your community who might not have heard about it!
